EXPOSURES - 8 weeks

Wednesdays - July 12 th to August 30th (Online via Zoom - 7:00pm to 9:00pm)

A "hands-on" workshop based on in person discussion and interaction generated from the photography submitted by you with the goal to make you a better photographer.

To participate you'll need an internet connection and a microphone to participate in the group discussion as the images are presented. It's not absolutely necessary that you have a web camera as the images will be the main focus of each evening's discusssion but if you are able to go "live" visually so much the better.

Each week you'll be submitting images based on a specific topic or concept that I will give you (no images from your files).

No image or software manipulation is allowed (images submitted have to be straight off the camera).

During each session... as a group we'll look at the technical side of the images (aperture, shutter speed, focal length, ISO, white balance, etc.) and we'll discuss the creative side (image composition, image framing etc) and whether these "worked" based on the concept for the image.

The benefit to participants:

  • An incentive to not only get you going out and taking pictures each week but to have you really think about the images you want to capture and submit for discussion.

  • Direct feedback about your images and consequently you'll start to learn what makes an image work and what doesn't and how to improve your photography.

  • Finally... implement the things you've learned into your own work from the discussion of not only your own images but those of the other participants.

This workshop will be limited to 12 participants to make sure we have enough time to discuss all the images that get shown.
